Thank you Stacey for capturing so much joy that day with all the Girl Fight Club'ers!

In our current state of obsession with youth and all things young – and by “current” I’m referring to the last forever many years – I’d like to write to that said obsession today.

It is the birthday of one of my dearest friends, and her lessons for me on ageing, living and dying whisper to my soul every day. I see her in the penny on the sidewalk. The bowl and wooden spoon I use multiple times each day. I hear her in the vibrant sounds of Earth, Wind & Fire. Feel her when I roam around my home in one of her old ‘house dresses’.

Happy Birthday to my strongest “She-Roe”!

If anyone of you is dreading your 30’s or 40’s or 50’s or anytime beyond, please know there are countless others that would trade places with you in a heartbeat. Literally. A heartbeat.

To age is a privilege, wrinkles and all. Let us not forget that and let us listen deeply to our angels when they gently tell us to “….put your big girl panties on” and get on with living!
